A TRIBUTE TO MAHARAJA JAGADDIPENDRA NARAYAN BHUP BAHADUR OF COOCH BEHAR

Cooch Behar Archive & The Imperial Library (COBAIL) is offerings It’s tribute to the late Maharaja Sir Jagaddipendra Narayan Bhup Bahadur (1915-1970 A.D.) of Cooch Behar by organizing an exhibition from 16th-18th of December , 2014 , featuring the “Life & Work” of the late Maharaja.

Rajkumari Uttara Devi of Cooch Behar , Her Highness the Maharani of Kotah , has given her kind consent to become our Chief Guest & inaugurate the programme.

The Exhibition shall consist mainly of a rare collection of old-photographs collected from numerous sources by the Archive & Books , Medals , Stamps , Coins & other assets that were issued during the regime of the late Maharaja.Letters written by the Maharaja & some other Historically significant documents of the said period shall also be present in the Exhibition.

Venue : Jenkins School , Silver Jubilee Road , Cooch Behar.

Time : Open from 11:00 A.M. to 08:00 P.M.

  1. This will definitely be a great event to remember. I will try my best to attend
    the programme. Actually the history o Coochbehar Kingdom is less discussed
    and less known to the people of India, compared to other Kingdoms. I think
    this sort of programmes should be organised in Kolkata and other cities for
    the knowledge of interested persons about the history o Coochbehar and
    the rulers thereby. The huge contribution of the Maharajas of Coochbehar
    in every aspect should be made known to people in general. I will be grateful
    if such sort of programmes are arranged outside Coochbehar also.
